I don't have the time I used to have to mess around with flash, but I still want to try to release a game or two a year just because I really, really miss making them! ;_;

I've been pretty busy with 'life stuff' and will continue to be for another three months or so. But I did set some creative time aside last week and made these two things. First is a silly/cute (hopefully cute) little idle game. It was inspired by an idle mining game on Kongregate. You just dig, and try to dig deeper, and over time, you'll reach the bottom. there is no ending or anything right now, but I suppose if players really liked the idea, when I get time I could expand on it.

Second is a little 'speed drawn' webcomic idea I had. I did this in two sessions totally about 5 hours. It's kind of insane how much time it takes to make a comic, these are SO SLOPPY, storyboards really, no words or anything, and it still took half a work day. Nuts. Guess I'm just slow! But other comic artists I've met over the years say the same thing, it takes seconds to read a page, and days to make one.

I'd love to maybe one day make it for reals though. I'm calling it Pangolin, and it's a dieselpunk story about these kinda mechpilots and stuff. I figure I'll just cram whatever I want/feel like into it and see what happens. It can't hurt right?

I also wanted to point ou this old game called A Grain of Truth. I've had it on my favorites list for years now, and last night decided to play it, and like, it's really good imo. It is super original, tohught and attention are put in every detail. And it only has 40k plays! What is this!? SO, I wanted ot give it a mention, direct osme traffic back to a well-made, creative game. Art and story man.

I really want story games like this, point and click, casual, calm, relaxing types of games... I relaly want them to be more successful. I can see why they don't appeal to everyone, but it's such a fun thing imo. It's like a comicbook you get to explore instead of just read. I want to encourage more people to make these kinds of games, and even more to play them! :P

Look at how badass this is, seriously. Just take a minute, look at the details. Look at the linework, look at how clean and ocnfident the lines are. The colors or subtle, soothing, almost gives a melancholy vibe. The text printed on the station in different languages, I just love the hell out of it, I hope you will too. And this dude, he's like one of my all time favorite music makers here on NG. 99% of what he releases sounds so effing awesome. Makes me wanna roleplay. At least get a sword and whack things. Seriously, such an adventurous inspiration. I planned to use a dozen of his songs in my future games, but you know, I don't have time to make games like I used to. Give this stuff a listen! It's totally worht it, just chill out and let it happen.

Lastly, Lundsryd. Man, this guy's art is the bomb. He does so much with so little, seriously awesome. I dunno about you guys, but my crap is always WAY too busy, my colors are all over the place. I don't get 'less is more' but Lundsfryd does. Don't sit there like a weasel turd, go scope out his work!

Some WIPS from a little sometihng I've been working on. It's still really early, no ETA or anything. Feels good to make art again though.

Working on a little something today. Gonna try to bang out a small free game for fun in just a few days. Here goes!

Also, was digging through my old stuff, found a ton of notes, sketches, drawings from my early games. Alice is Dead and others around that time. And some Pico stickers and even a cool certificate thing Tom sent me. It's even more touching now to see them.

While I don't have much time to work on games and stuff anymore, when I DO have time, I've been slowly chipping away at Spellsword. Many of my kickass players donated money to see Spellsword get finished, and that was really touching, so I'm going to make sure I complete it. Here is a new portrait of a character from the game. I don't have an ETA on the game yet, but I will continue to share progress when I can. It's still early for sure.

Here is a pretty big map of the Lorestrome universe, I never finished the map, but all of the most important places are marked on the map. Something like 80% of my games took place in on this map somewhere.

That is still on, I just got back from some training and have had a week to relax, in several days I'll be heading out again, and might not be back for THREE months! I won't have internet access of any kind while gone, so if you send me a message and I don't respond, that is why.

I just wanted to say how touched I am at some of the kind messages people have sent me. Really touching stuff I honestly didn't expect. I've taken the time to read every message sent, every blog post, etc, and I've replied when and where I could.

I will come back to making games, and I will provide them free online. I'll use flash as long as Newgrounds is here to host it for me. I just need a break, and I need financial stability. It came to a point to where my games, something I made for fun, was an important part of my income, and that made it not fun anymore. Also, suddenly I was having trouble ignoring the rude comments and hateful feedback, that's a me thing, but there it is. I just need some time away form game making, away from 'reviews,' etc. I'll probably do some comics if I get free time, just... something else. Try to rediscover my inspiration.

Anyway, I'm home for a bit, I'll poke aorund, wanted to say hi. I'll be gone a long time this next time I go, but if I get any time off, or find a place that has internet, I'll be sure to swing by and see what is up here at NG. You guys rock.

Now I'm gonna go get some much needed sleep, lol.
