I don't think early access is necessary if you haven't got anything too experimental to throw out and it's still quite buggy. It'd just feel like trying to push the game out early or that you're not trying to do proper testing for it before it's released. That's just my personal preference.

Seriously, you're overthinking this Kickstarter business. So many more projects fail to reach funding than actually manage to, they're just not ones you here about. There have been games that have also failed to reach a funding goal and have went ahead anyway and been good. Lack of big press probably didn't help much either which sometimes is out of your hands if the bigger names don't take an interest.

Anyway, it's definitely a genre that appeals to me and my past game releases should show that :P What I've seen from the project so far looks very nice and I'll definitely be making a purchase!

Yeah, right? I agree, thanks for the feedback. In a perfect world honestly, if i could make a game, and players liked it, and I could just keep working on the same game and adding onto it i think i'd love that most. But that is a hard thing to devise. And there is SO MUCH good stuff for players to do with their time now. Thanks for the kind words man, really means a lot!

I'm stoked. As long as you enjoy making it you should keep on going.

Yeah, thanks man! ^5

I don't know. I'm sorry to hear you're disheartened.

I love your games for their beautiful assets and the plots and puzzles of games like Hood and Alice, but a lot of the others are lacking in novel game mechanics, are too long for their content, and feature banal dialogue and overused fantasy plot devices. I hadn't heard anything about Wolfsong that makes me think the gameplay or plot is at all novel or interesting, I confess, but I'd meant to chip in a few bucks towards the end of the kickstarter anyway. If you have faith in the game enough to invest so much of your life into it, I can respect that.

I don't think I'm too down, I mean progress is coming along well I think. It is just slow! But I'm having fun doing it. i want people to like the game, but i also don't want to spend my time making something other people will enjoy, while i don't enjoy making it myself. If that makes sense. The big news here is I'm a quarter of the way done! :D

I've been through that as well. Took me 3 1/2 years to finish something that should've taken a few months. Didn't have all the money, cast or crew I needed, so it got slowed down (and plain stopped) quite a bit. It cost me more in the long run, also made a crappier product (movie).

I don't think what happened to me, will happen to you though, so long as you keep your perspective, and keep busy. I'm glad you've fallen in love with this project, I hope you're proud of it once it's completed!

I appreciate the reflection man. Yeah, it's tough, because like, sometimes you just flat need time and money to make something what you know it could be. but you just gotta do the best you can with what you have and keep rollin' -- Stay cool man, thanks for the support. ^_^

If you're enjoying making it and are happy with it, people will see that in the final game!

I have plenty of friends who never "got" Newgrounds or had any interest in it... Hell, pretty much everyone I know who I didn't meet through NG fits in that category. Gotta just be you and you'll find people who share your interests!

I appreciate that man, means a lot. And yeah, I know I'm not doing anything new or interesting, I just want it to be fun, and to have fun doing it. :P Which currently I am! <3 It reminds me of the good memories from when I was a kid, which I think a lot of us at NG can relate to.

This position in which you are currently standing is the strongest one imaginable.
It will take time, but if nothing bad happens to you (hopefully), the product WILL be made.

Thanks, yeah I'm happy with how it is coming along!

Good! And I'm sorry if I was harsh with my feedback, I didn't intend to be. And for real I'm glad you've got a good handle on the balance of pleasing yourself with your work versus pleasing an audience- I think a lot of artists fuck that up and hurt themselves trying to make other people happy.

It seem's like a decent concept for a game to me. I've wanted to make an rpg of the sort as well. The game OFF was pretty inspiring, give it a play if you haven't. There is an english version out there. But one thing I noticed with your little teaser demo was some of the art I feel could have been a bit better. Like I think Warren's sprite far exceeded the quality of the other ones.
Also although It didn't get funded on kickstarter don't worry. It's hard to get funded on kickstarter know adays especially without alot of PR. Once It's done drop it on steam greenlight and let the players take the wheel there. Without a doubt if It's up to snuff with get funded. Just me sure to keep it diverse and entertaining. With interesting visual and mechanical elements. Good luck

Keeping on trucking Hyptosis!

You're by far my favourite game producer on Newsgrounds, and I'm eagerly anticipating what sounds like a wicked game!

I love SNES style games, because my childhood was full of them, and because they were awesome!!! I could imagine you making a game like and as good as Chrono Trigger, which I loved!

All the best to you man! I'll check our your kickstarter now, you might find a little extra in the bank soon ;)

Good luck!

Hay Hyptosis, you should start up a Patreon account. You definitely have the fans and fallowing, plus receiving money for things that you are already doing is well convenient. plus its easy.

I've certainly thought about it, it seems a bit time consuming though to maintain one and to keep promoting it.
