Runs great for me but my machine is pretty good. Is this Stencyl 2.0 or are you on the 3.0 beta?

One thing I noticed... In platformers, sometimes you release and then re-press your jump button before you've quite landed from the previous jump. In these cases it's good to have it register again as a new jump as soon as you hit the platform (if you are still holding the button down and if you had released it since the initial jump). Playing your demo, this seems to happen sometimes but not every time... It results in me running around and not always jumping when I expect to jump.

Oh, that's a good idea. I hadn't thought of that at all. Thanks! Should be an easy addition.

This is still Stencyl 2, I'm not on the beta. I'm really looking forward to Stencyl 3 though.

Had no problems here it ran smooth, the attacks respond well too, i think what you should be concerned about is FPS preferably with an increased number of enemies in a room, this should be something you will want to test on thoroughly so you know it's limits....

Yeah, I don't think the reported problems previously were due to entities on screen though, since there was never more than a handful. I'm also attempting to use smaller map sizes just to see if it helps this time.

While I was playing I encountered a glitch.
I killed both enemies in that first room then decided to run around and die. I got to the map with the different places you can go to. I went to the first square and clicked on the first planet. I was going through it and I accidentally smacked into the ceiling. In doing so there was a duplicate of my character that kept going onto the ledge that was nearest to me whereas I was sitting a bit further back.

Yeah, it's built on top of another game, you were seeing parts of the other game :P

Also the duplicate kept following me throughout the rest of the level until I got to one of those heads that like....spit at you or whatever and the other one died and I didn't lose any health.

Ah okay. I thought it looked REALLY REALLY familiar haha

haha :P Stay cool man :P

ok this part is on my new computer, which runes crazy fast, the next part will be on my old dinosaur on the other side of the room.

first off, the load was super slow for 3.7 mbs, taking almost as much time as hood (which i was loading at the same time) only taking about a minute less though loading was initiated 3 minutes after. secondly, should i be starting with 1001 points? thirdly, when first starting the second 0 in 1001 overlaps the one, making it hard to read. fourthly, am i supposed to be able to explore other planets? fithly, on the other planets writing on the signs or overlaped and partly obscured by the sides of the screen. sixthly, the second odd bird creature i encountered i let walk through me to test the damage animation, after walking through me it walked off a ledge onto another ledge, after that ledge it walked into thin air and kept going. seventhly, coins can go through the arrow firing heads making them impossible to retrieve. eighthly, i am unsure what it was but it looked like a small green closed flower, which disapeared when i approached. ninthly, occasionaly the keys will stick momentarily, though i have only experienced this moving to the right as of yet. that is all that is apperent at this time on the new computer, switching to the old one now, though im only planning upon playing a couple levels simply to test how the engine runs on older computers.

firstly, on the older computer the game loaded quite fast taking maybe 45 seconds, odd considering that computer can crash running wikipedia, possibly caused by differing browsers, with my new comp running IE and my old comp running chrome, will have to evestigate farther, one moment... ok done, the problem appears to be with IE severly slowing down the load times, may want to look into that. the following will be split into two parts, first one for IE and the second one for chrome. on IE the sticky keys get much stronger and more frequent, sometimes leaving me running for an extra 8-10 seconds. it also begins to lag quite badly when you encounter more than 2 creatures or jump often from platform to platform. on chrome the lag becomes extreme from just shooting, severely lowering playability. which becomes even stronger when multiple enimies are introduced. i also noticed on chrome that sometimes you fall on a ball spitter and they float above you. cheers mate, hope this helped

Thanks man, sorry about the trouble! I'll look into those things.

It most definitely has potential. I wasn't to fond of the control layout so I hope what comes of this game will have either an option to edit the control layout or one that is more hands friendly for running and shooting at the same time. Keep it goin me thinks.

Awesome, thanks for the feedback, it really helps!

The only problem i have with it is the controls i like using wasd but im on a laptop and i cant press number pad 1 easily but besides that the game run smoothly and i couldnt see any other problems

Thanks, I'll try remapping them to something more central, thanks!

You can add some upgrade screen after every level, maybe with grenades and other guns. But i can't find any problem with the game, you are awesome. Keep the good work!

Medals will be great too!

I killed my self and the sound dissapeared

Runs nice and smooth on my old computer. It says it's an average of 40 fps. Looks like a different kind of game for you.

all keys tend to either work once after press and hold or continually stick and remain stuck.
other than that pretty cool game, kill shit, fly around. nice pixelated world.

What are your system specs? What browser were you using? This is what I'm trying ti fix.

Using Firefox, it ran completely smoothly. Chrome ran a bit laggy and skipped frames, but Chrome's flash plugin sucks, not your fault. No real issues with the controls.

Load time was very fast, but then again, I have a 60Mbps connection. It would be nice to have more feedback onpress for the Start button, though. There's no real indication that it registered a click, and the switch to gameplay is not immediately (though it is very short, within a second or so).

If you hold a direction to start running, then hold the other direction, you will continue to move in the original direction and running animation continues as normal. If you jump while doing this, horizontal motion stops as expected as does the running animation (then resumes once you release a direction key).

IF you hold down a direction key, then hold down fire button and the other direction key (doesn't matter which order), you keep moving, fire continuously, but the running animation stops. This only happens if you hold down the opposite direction key.

Invincibility after-hit only seems to apply to the same monster. If you run through 2 monsters in quick succession, you take damage twice instead of the expected 1 damage

Hornet type thing seems to have a weird hitbox interaction. If you try jumping vertically through it, you will only get damaged going one direction (sometimes it's only on the way up, sometimes only on the way down), not the other, even if the invincibility is visibly not active.

The lizard looking thing just runs off the left side of the screen. Is that expected behavior? Seems like it should stop and turn around or something.

Just saying what I noticed as far as the controls: As you jump the flash doesn't quite match where the muzzle is of the gun. If you hold the fire key and let's say continue right while holding the left button down the character won't move his legs. When not firing with both keys held down his legs move. Also, with both left and right held down he is not able to jump.

I didn't have any problems jumping, shooting, killing enemies and etc. I don't know if this would fall under animation or what and i don't know if this is supposed to be like but the only thing I saw wrong was the spark, I guess you could say, animation when the gun is shooting. It seems to be a bit higher than where the muzzle of the gun actually is, when I just it doesn't keep up with me and will go lower and higher than the muzzle of the gun, and when I run forward it sparking falls doesn't keep up with the muzzle and will fall behind.

running fine on my dual 2.3 ghz G5 (pre-intel chipset) mac running os 10.4.11, safari 4.1.3 and flash version 10.1.102.64. Its a 2004 model don't know how old you are looking for but hope this helps.

Works quite well, although there wasn't much shooting going on for me because only 2 enemies spawned... not sure if that's intentional. Holding down both left and right arrow keys (or A, D, or any opposing direction combination of the 4) makes the character glide around on the ground. I even got him to moonwalk on a few occasions. This might be something to do with my keyboard though.

Running on Windows XP, smooth as butter, no chop on my end. Enemies are frail, dying with just the tap of the fire button. Protagonist puts up with a LOT of abuse.

Jump works fine, we get injured in the air, but only when the Wasp is practically IN us...an animated thrust and improved range, or a Wasp Dive might actually improve the Wasp's potency.

The protagonist "thud" whenever he lands is really cool. Might I suggest adding an animation for when he's moving and landing at the same time, so his feet don't look like they plant on the ground while sliding in the direction we're moving.

It's neat that the rock throwing guy has limited range, but again, frail and killed with a sometimes accidental tap of the fire key. As long as enemies will gain increased hit points, that would be awesome.

So far so good! If you need a tester, PM me!

Ahh, also I was using Firefox.
