So you would be interested in a sequel to Retriever? Something with a bit more story, better controls, and cooler heists? MIGHT try to release it for mobile too.
What am I working on? Well that is a fantastic question I'm pretending you asked!
I just finished Guild Dungeons 2. It's DONE. I'm tweaking it some, and doing a little bit of player testing to fine tune it, but it's essentially done. That is a LOAD of my mind. I've been working on that game, on and off, for well over a year. Insane. I usually finish a game in less than a month. But they're also far my simple than that. The mechanics under the hood of GD2 are massive, even if the game seems simple. Hope to be able to release it soon!
I'll include a screenshot. Ignore the CHEAT button, that isn't going to be in the final game, it's for the play testers. :P
ALSO working on Kingdom of Liars, going to just buckle my boots and finish that entire series all the way through, should be fun! :D
Thanks, stay cool guys! More updates soon!
Hey guys, hope you're doing well. Some news fomr me and on what I've bee working on.
I am trying to connect with my players a bit more on a more personal level. I get a lot of emails and messages 'when is _______ coming out?' Which is great! But I'd like a place to share what I'm working on at the time. Also to post sketches and concepts and other fun stuff.
Sagittarian 4b is done! It should be out late this week! I'm very excited about this one, I spent roughly four times as much time per panel. I think it might be the best one yet, I don't want to build it up too much or it will disappoint anyone. I'm just very happy with it. I hope the extra quality in the art goes noticed. <3
I'm working on Guild Dungeons 2 again. It's a monster project but it is slowly coming along. The game is deceptively simple I think, but there is a lot going on under the hood. Plus, I've been working double hard to make the lore of the game work with the lore of my previous titles. Hood, Kingdom of Liars, Runeseekers, Relic. Anyone who played the previous titles will hopefully notice the similarities and allusions to them.
I'm also chipping away at a small scifi rpg. Wayfinder did very poorly all 'round, but I really really love scifi and cyberpunk. I want to give it one more shot. My fantasy titles just seem to perform so much better. I'm not sure if it is simply the setting, or maybe I'm just bad at scifi stuff, I'll try to figure it out. I want to give it another go.
That is about all I have to announce right now, just the next game I hope to release. Hope you're all doing well and kicking ass, thanks!
First I want to thank everyone for the great feedback on my last blog post.

I've decided I'm going to complete at least one more tree from Sagittarian 3. If you're interested you can see bits of it on my facebook page, also feel free to friend me! I also try to share updates on twitter.
Also work on Guild Dungeons is coming along. Sagi 4b will be finished first. It is over halfway done right now.
In the future I think I might start a new story with a new crew though. The fresh start would be good for me. Glad you guys are still digging it, and hopefully once BOTH of these games are done, I can finish up Kingdom of Liars! Stay cool guys! Support Newgrounds! It supports creators!
Well, tax season was a swift kick to the balls. No that I've clambered back to my feet I suppose I'll mention what I've been working on.
I have been chipping away at this monster for almost a year now. There are so many little details, and I don't want to cut anything. While simultaneously trying to keep the file size as small as possible. I'd say the game is roughly 1/3rd finished. I've got all of the units in place, the heroes set up, most of the buildings completed. I'm working on random events and gambling and smithing/alchemy right now. Also the spell creation tools. I've hit a bit of a financial wall, I can't afford to keep working on it. So I keep having to stop and take time to work on smaller projects to stay afloat. I thought about running a kickstarter for it a few times but something doesn't sit right about that for me. Not sure what.
I've been debating real hard about this one. I'm not sure if I should try to pick up the other story ends on 3, or start a new one from a different origin. It's a bit overwhelming trying to keep all the details straight from previous games with so many branches, in just the first three games there are something like 10 or 11 endings. I would kind of like starting again, rebooting the series, maybe revamping the art style. Of course, picking up the other story trees is cool too. I'd love to know what you guys think!
I got this cool little email this morning that said Hood Episode 3 was nominated for game of the year on their point and click adventure category. While I don't expect to win, I never expect much of anything actually, I am super flattered and it feels like an achievement in and of itself.
Check it out here, lots of good games!
Also, unrelated to that, he is some stuff I've been working on. (I've mostly been working on GuildDungeons2, but no screenshots of that yet.)

These are from an rpg I've been working on, well, all of it except the 3d thing, that's just some really crappy 3d stuff I've been doing to try to learn how to work in 3d! That is my first character and my first environment! I know! It's bad! But it's my first try dudes, cut my some slack. :P You're all spoiled by today's graphics!
Also, here is some stuff I don't think I've shared yet, from another rpg project. And for those of you familiar with my fantasy world, where most of my games take place, the story takes place in Kamala. The land where Fjor was form in Relic!

Outcast studios btw is a fantastic comic book forum for aspiring comic artists, scope it out! They are great dudes over there.
Also, it's currently on the frontpage, but scope out my zombie game if you haven't. I don't have time right now to respond to all my reviews, but I do read them, and plan to makes notes based on them and revamp the game some and then release it again with the changes in the future. So let me know what you liked most, and what you hated most!
Phew, a lot of links. Thanks for stopping by, stay cool guys! Hope to have Guild Dungeons 2 out soon!
I just released Children of Brinn! It's a kind of experimental story/oregon trail thing. I'd love to know your thoughts, it isn't too terribly long or complex, and was actually a much harder project to manage than I expected.
Also a little something I'm working on, it's supposed to be a nod/homage to Final Fantasy 6. I'm using similar color choices and similar tile placement. Or trying to! :P
This is a for fun, kinda side project. Although I might like to make it into something more, with voice acting and a killer sound track. We'll see though, most likely I won't be able to maintain the Final Fantasy 6 feel I'm trying to grab. I'd love though to be able to tap into that nostalgic feel for people.
I'll continue to share my projects, in a few days (weeks at worst) I should be releasing another game so stay tuned, thanks guys!
OH, lastly, my age leveled up this month, so that sucked. :P
Just thought I'd post, share what I've been working on.
My main focus right now is Guild Dungeons 2. But it's a pretty massive title, a real pain to code and keep organized. But I want to do it right. I enjoyed making the first one, and a lot of players liked it. Two good reasons to work really hard on the sequel.
I'm also working on this dungeons and dragons/sagittarian prototype. Thing. It's like a cross between Guild Dungeons and The Sagittarian. I want to keep it simple, and hopefully fun to play. I"m worried it might be a bit text heavy, but making flash games to me is all about experimenting. I love trying new game ideas and seeing what people like. It'll probably be a huge flop, and be 'too short' but regardless, I"m excited to give it a go. It's roughly 80% finished.
I know a lot of people are wondering about the next Sagittarians, I AM working on them, but they're no where near ready to be released. They're very taxing titles to work on. I've also been working on Kingdom of Liars, but I'm taking some time to really study my previous games, and try to find what aspects of the game mechanics players liked, and what they didn't like. Like, I got a lot of complaints about the floor panel puzzle in Kingdom of Liars, it made sense to me when building it, but players didn't seem to like it on a whole. I don't want to make the same mistakes over and over.
I think it is really important to listen to your players, while trying to stay true to yourself and the image you have for your product.
Anyway, that's what I"m working on, thanks guys! Stay cool!
First thing first, I'm releasing a lot of my old art for public use. I've had so many irons in the fire for so long, it's been a really really rough past couple of weeks. Hit after hit after hit and I'm getting tired and I'm running out of money.
I've worked on dozens of games and none of them are ever going to get finished, mostly because the programmers lost interest, but in a few cases it's just me too. Some of these art assets are just culled from projects that we may yet finish as well. Anyway, point is, here is some art for you guys to use in your games if you want!
I'd prefer some minor percentage of ad revenue as a royalty for use, but it isn't required. I really enjoy making this kind of art, I hate to see it go to waste hiding away on my storage drives.
A lot of these are really old and not up to par with my current abilities, but there it is. Also, I've go this game I've very much wanted to finish, but it just isn't going to happen. I've sunk weeks into it and it's moving too slow. I won't make enough money on it to warrant finishing it, so I'm pulling the cord. You guys can see what little I finished here though.
You won't see it in the game, but I painted over 40 full body shots of characters, dozens of locations, but it just isn't feeling like something that is going to get done. There are too many complex things in the end that I just can't do alone. And looking back, every scifi game I've made in the past (I'm looking at your Wayfinder) has been a failure of epic proportions. It just isn't meant to be. But what little I did do, and it isn't much, I'd like someone to see.
I wanted it to be a slow paced story type game, centered around the supporting characters. The player would play as 'captain' ala Star Trek, giving them orders and sending them into danger. The orders the captain would give, would help determine if they survive, got hurt, and so on. I feel like I just bit too much off with this one though, it doesn't look like much, but refresh and replay a few times and you'll see changes in the story, the variables were rapidly getting out of hand, as was the file size.
I'm also pulling the plug on Rebel Sky. I can't get Stencyl to do what I want, and I'm not a good enough programmer to make anything unique with it anyway. Just rehashing and rehashing and rehashing.
You can play what little bit I completed here --
Rebel Sky Demo
Thanks for scoping out what I've been doing guys. Cleaning my plate like this will hopefully restore my drive some. The only thing left is Guild Dungeons 2, I have some of it completed and I need to drag it out and decide if I can finish it or if I should put a bullet in her head too.
If you guys somehow haven't played this game yet, please do! It is built in html5 by some fantastic guys who I very much look forward to seeing more work from in the future.
The retro feel is great, by the concept is pretty unique. It feels like the game I should have been able to play in my youth but somehow never did.
